From Raw Steel to Polished Blade

DESIGN

A knife is a tool, but it is also more than that. To those who love knives, a knife is a steady companion, a friend and also a thing of beauty. Form follows function, and function follows form. I have refined my designs over years of practice and trial and error. The weight, length, thickness, balance, all these factors harmonize. Or, in the case of a custom design, I work with you to create a masterpiece.

SHAPING

Heat to working temperature. Forge to establish profile and bevels. Refine shape and bevels with grinders.

Handle work

Cut the handle material to size, pin the scales, shape for a natural grip. I finish wood with Danish or Tung oil to feel alive in the hand, not plasticky.

Finishing

Sharpen to the target angle. Choose high polish, etched, blued, or keep forge texture—whatever best suits the steel and the job. Final checks for straightness, fit, balance, and bite.
